David Beckham has told Sky News his eldest son Brooklyn is desperate to join him on his charity trips abroad.
The ex-footballer was speaking as he launched a new global project with Unicef to help millions of children.
The project, entitled 7: The David Beckham Unicef Fund, marks Beckham's 10 years as a goodwill ambassador for the charity.
Named after the former England footballer's favourite shirt number, it will focus on seven countries where youngsters are at risk: Burkina Faso, El Salvador, Papua New Guinea, Swaziland, Djibouti, Serbia and Bangladesh.
The 39-year-old said his four children, Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper, are curious about his charity work and want to get involved too.
"I make sure my children are well aware of exactly what I'm doing," Beckham said.
He revealed that on the school run before the launch in central London on Monday, Brooklyn had asked: "When can I come on a trip?"
He added: "I'm lucky that my children really understand what I do and why I'm involved in Unicef and why I go away and help different children.
"They understand how they can get involved and they really do want to help."
Beckham has supported Unicef since 2005 when he became a goodwill ambassador with a special focus on child development through sport.
He visited the Philippines last year to meet children affected by Typhoon Haiyan and helped launch a Unicef appeal to raise funds for the victims which reached £5.4m in the UK.
His wife Victoria has also travelled all over the world in her capacity as a UN International Goodwill Ambassador.
Paloma Escudero, from Unicef's global management team, said: "David Beckham has dedicated his 10 years as a Unicef goodwill ambassador to speaking up for those who need it most - the world's most vulnerable children.
"David has raised awareness of major dangers facing children - including malnutrition, Ebola and Aids - and has travelled with Unicef to Sierra Leone, South Africa, Thailand and most recently the Philippines, where he helped raise vital funds for children affected by Typhoon Haiyan.
"Through 7: The David Beckham Unicef Fund, we can act together to drive positive change for children."
